We are happy to announce that last week we had a wonderful Groundbreaking Ceremony with nearly 100 attendees. The main speakers were Cesar Vincent, who gave the benediction, Edner of Housing Works, Esther Boucicault of FEBS, Peter Williams and Joy Gutierrez for ARCHIVE and the City Engineer, Leo Castilly. There were also two singers – one of whom is the “Haitian Idol” winner of this year! The whole ceremony took place in a relaxed and at the same time cheerful environment.
Zanmi Agrikol (“Partners in Agriculture” in Creole) also spoke to the attendees and as a very kind gesture, brought about a dozen sapling trees to be planted at Bois L’Etat. Just in the distance from the event, were the excavated footers for Maison Canopy and Shutter Dwelling, showing signs of building progress. See more photos clicking here. More updates soon!
