Development Coordinator (volunteer) – NY

ARCHIVE is seeking a Development Coordinator (volunteer) based in New York who will work closely with the US Communications Manager in ensuring that ARCHIVE maintains a stable revenue stream. The position requires a 6 month commitment with a minimum 21 hour/wk involvement.

This is a vital role primarily based around three core areas (1) researching and submitting funding applications to donor bodies (2) online campaigns and (3) events. You will also be responsible for formulating and seeing through innovative and creative means with which to raise funds in a broader context.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working semi-autonomously, is eager to plan and implement his/her own programs and is looking for a high responsibility role. The position is open immediately and reports to the US Communications Manager.

Responsibilities

• To assist in developing a sustained income for ARCHIVE to continue implementing projects and expand into new areas.
• To research funding sources are best suited for ARCHIVE’s work
• To complete and submit funding applications
• To develop online campaigns through social networking and/or organization’s website
• To assist in the planning of Tier 2 and Tier 3 fundraising events
• To assist in sourcing project specific funds where possible
• To think creatively about alternative sources of funding, and implement any feasible plans you may develop

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree – any discipline (essential). Though not required, degrees or experience in fundraising, grant writing, finance or other related degrees would be an advantage. Candidates will also need to demonstrate interest or experience in the non-profit/development sector.
• Proven entrepreneurial spirit and drive
• Impeccable oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work well independently and on small teams while managing multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
